Cindy Holodnak

Associate Director, Outreach & Engagement

Cindy Holodnak is Associate Director, Outreach and Engagement for the John Glenn School of Public Affairs where she oversees management and leadership development programs for public officials, and public sector agencies and their employees. Programs offered this year include MAPS (Management Advancement for the Public Sector), OCPM (Ohio Certified Public Managers), Best Practices Competition for Community Action Agencies, NEW Leadership Ohio as well as custom programs. The office also serves as Secretariat for the Ohio City/County Management Association.

Prior to joining the Glenn School, Ms. Holodnak was Director of the Graduate Programs Office for OSU's Fisher College of Business with responsibility for MBA, PhD and MLHR recruitment, admissions and student services.

Her Ohio State experience also includes serving as Assistant Director for the School of Public Policy and Management from 1982-1994. As Assistant Director, she was responsible for recruitment and admissions for the masters programs and served as the Director's surrogate in matters of student affairs.

Her experience includes grant budget preparation and administration, oversight of curricular innovations, programs of career development and special events.

Prior to coming to Ohio State, Ms. Holodnak worked as a consultant conducting training workshops for employability counselors, administered Allen County's Public Service Employment program, and was a mental health social worker. She was appointed by Director Michael Hogan's to serve on Ohio's Mental Health Commission, 2000-2001. She is a member, Board of Zoning and Planning, City of Upper Arlington. She is a 2004 recipient of OSU’s Distinguished Staff Award and, in 2003, was named National Speakers Association Ohio - Meeting Planner of the Year.

Ms. Holodnak earned her MA in Public Administration from The Ohio State University and her BA in Social Work from Ohio Northern Universit ygraduating with honors.
